Inspirational Judges Announced for Child of Britain Inaugural Awards 2022

Judging Commences for Child of Britain Inaugural Awards

Inspirational, compassionate, high-profile judges announced for the inaugural 'Child of Britain Awards 2022.

The Awards, taking place on Friday 24thJune 2022 at ​the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London, will recognise ​and celebrate the achievements and inspirational stories of amazing children and young people across the UK.

Covering many categories including, Child of Courage, Environmental Champion, Young Sporting hero and Young leader, there is a category to honour so many inspirational stories.

A special awards ceremony needs a special judging panel, and much time and effort has gone into selecting judges that would help to honour the nominees.

The Child of Britain Awards are pleased to announce the judging panel:

  • Broadcaster and Greatest Hits Radio Drivetime presenter, Simon Mayo MBE
  • From pop group Steps, Ian H Watkins
  • Olympic sprinter and hurdler, Colin Jackson CBE
  • Owner of Mark Jermin Management and Mark Jermin Stage School, Mark Jermin
  • English Actress and businesswoman, Charlie Brooks
  • Cash For Kids
  • Marketing Director from Headline sponsors I SAW IT FIRST, Annie Kacperek
  • Pride of Britain Winner and winner of the happiest people in the UK, Pepe Hart
  • Awards Founder and chair of the judging panel, Blanche Sainsbury

With over 400 nominations in just 11 categories the incredible panel of Judges have their work cut out for them!

Reviewing nominations over the coming week - the group will meet virtually with award founders Mark and Blanche Sainsbury and Events Director, Ashleigh Kerr to review the winners and put all final confirmations in place.

All entrants into the awards have special stories, and each entrant will receive a nominee certificate to honour their amazing achievements. The winners in each category will be contacted directly in WC 7th March.

The event has already attracted remarkable support from the business community with categories sponsored by St James’s Place Wealth Management, Trade Centre Group, Bluestone National Park Resort, Blue Tiger Marketing, with I SAW IT FIRST headline sponsoring the event. Greatest Hits Radio have also recently been announced as the official broadcast partner.

Pepe Hart, Pride of Britain award winner and member of the judging panel, said:

Having been involved the judging and seeing the calibre of entrants for the Child of Wales Awards, I know we’ve got an incredibly tough process ahead. There are so many inspirational children and young people across the UK, and it’s a pleasure to be involved in, and chairing, the process to shine a light on some of their stories."

Blanche Sainsbury, Awards Founder and chair of the judging panel, said:

We have been blown away by the response to the awards and number of entries received, the stories that have been told are truly remarkable. We are extremely grateful to all the judges for giving us their time to complete this incredibly difficult task. We look forward to discussing the chosen winners on 21st February and to honouring them in June.
