Welcome to Child of Britain

Welcome to Child of Britain

Date: 25th August 2020 | By: Seren Global Media

Welcome and thank you for your interest in Child of Britain. I am the founder Blanche Sainsbury, and I’d be grateful if you’d read about our work, the charities we support and the inspirational achievements of children across Britain.

Child of Britain is the only national initiative dedicated to celebrating the achievements and courage of children and young people across the United Kingdom. It culminates in a star-studded ceremony, which is held in a different city every year, at which the children are treated as the stars and their achievements are celebrated.

The event was born out of the success of our sister event the Child of Wales. We worked with many national names on that including Barclays, BMW, Iceland, Bid Food and DWJ Wealth Management. Interest in supporting the event exceeded our expectations and culminated in all the children being invited to Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister.

We help fundraise for charities who are dedicated to helping young people and children.

We also met and celebrated the achievements of some incredible children along the way. These included an 8-year old who raised more than a quarter of a million pounds for charity.  Also, athletes who, despite having disabilities, have achieved amazing things in the sporting world.  We have been inspired by many stories of courage and bravery in the face of adversity. You can meet some of the winners and hear their stories on the Child of Wales website.

Our experiences with Child of Wales made us realise that people in this country want to get behind initiatives that celebrate the bravery and achievements of children and young people. Plus, there are so many stories out there that deserve telling. We realised that there was interest at a national level in such an event – and Child of Britain was born.

We have already signed up some partners on this, which will help us build awareness, seek nominations and tell the stories of the young people we work with.

We are also in the process of selecting our charity partners for the next 12 months. A big part of what we do will be raising money to help charities that help young people.

Our intention is that the event will embrace the whole of the UK and we plan to host our inaugural event in late 2021. We are watching the situation around COVID-19 closely, so that we can plan ahead next year.

We want to hear the stories of incredible young people right now. So, if you know anyone who deserves recognition, please go to the relevant form on our website and nominate them.

Equally, we are also keen to speak to companies and other organisations interested in partnering with us. Please get in touch. We would love to chat with you.

Thank you again for your interest in Child of Britain. We hope to see you at one of our events very soon.
